Where Can I Buy A Jitterbug Smartphone ##HOT##

Today, 81% of people ages 60 to 69 use smartphones, as do 62% of those who are 70 and older. With the touch of a button, seniors can connect with family and friends, shop, do their banking, surf the web and even get medical help. This access is important because older adults can become socially isolated and may have a hard time getting out of the house regularly.

The Jitterbug Smart3 is an Android phone that lets you do all the things most smartphones do, such as access the internet, conduct video chats, navigate email and play games. But because it was designed with seniors in mind, there are features that people with dexterity, vision or hearing challenges often welcome, such as a large screen, an easy-to-read list menu, voice typing capabilities and hearing-aid compatibility.

My Jitterbug Smart3 ended up costing me $149.99 for the device in addition to a $35 activation fee. Sure, this might seem a bit pricey, but considering that modern smartphones can cost upwards of $500, not to mention data plans and hidden fees, I was pleased with this price point.

Still, what the Jitterbug Smart3 offers is a bridge between older adults and the modern smartphone. With its intuitive controls and added safety features, chances are this smartphone be great for any of your loved ones.

While some older adults have mastered advanced smartphones like the iPhone, an even larger group needs a smartphone or flip phone more suited to their needs. That's where companies like Lively come in. This company offers two affordable, accessible phones designed specifically for older adults. Both feature hearing aid compatibility, simple menus, a speakerphone, voice-to-text functionality, a long battery life, and add-on health and safety features.

From the outside, the Jitterbug Smart3 looks like any ordinary smartphone. It features a 6.2-inch screen, dual rear cameras (13MP/5MP), a front camera, voice typing, and video chat capabilities. However, the key difference is that it was made for the 61 percent of adults age 65+ who use a smartphone.2 Senior-friendly features include an Urgent Response button, M4/T4 rating for hearing aid compatibility, a simple list-based menu for easy navigation, a powerful speaker, and brain games to keep you sharp.

The Jitterbug Smart3 costs $149.99 plus a $35 activation fee. You'll also need to add a talk, text, and data plan, with options ranging from $17.48 for the Value Talk & Text plus 100 MB of data to $49.99 per month for unlimited talk, text, and data. We certainly think it's worth the price seeing, as it's on our list of best smartphones for seniors.

Price-wise, Lively fares well against the competition. A fully unlimited talk, text, and data plan from Lively costs $49.99 per month, whereas Consumer Cellular charges $55 per month just for unlimited data, unlimited texting, and 250 minutes of talk. Consumer Cellular does have Lively beat with its $35 flip phone, but again, it lacks the advanced health and safety features that Lively is known for.

Urgent Response agents can also provide you help wherever you might be. They are trained to ask questions to help find out how severe your situation may be, help you get the assistance that you need, and can even call 9-1-1 on your behalf, if necessary. With Urgent Response, you can be assured that help is only a button push away!

Sure, there are plenty of smartphones to choose from nowadays, but for some people it's more important to have a device that's very easy to use rather than, say, one that looks great and performs extraordinarily. Here's where GreatCall's just-announced Jitterbug Touch 2 comes in. This Ice Cream Sandwich-based smartphone isn't tailored for the new generation per se, but rather for folks like grandma and grandpa -- or, as the company puts it, "aging Americans." Much like its predecessor, the second-gen Jitterbug Touch is loaded with specs that likely won't wow many, including a 4-inch, 800 X 480 display with Qualcomm's MSM8625 1.5GHz CPU, 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. However, GreatCall doesn't want this to be the focus; instead plans to lure people in with Jitterbug's utterly simple UI and suite of health / medical apps.

The launch of the original Jitterbug Touch in 2012 allowed GreatCall to understand what aging consumers wanted and needed in order to make the transition from a basic phone to a smartphone. According to a 2013 AARP Media Sales and GreatCall study, more than 40 percent of respondents surveyed said that smartphones are too complicated to use. The Jitterbug Touch 2 will help bridge this gap in the market, by offering all the features of a modern smartphone in a simplified format.

"When we released the original Jitterbug Touch, we put it in the hands of our customers to learn firsthand how we could improve their smartphone experience," said Dean Williams, Vice President of Technology at GreatCall. "This customer feedback proved to be crucial in the development of this second generation phone, allowing us to see into the minds of our customers to determine what would add the most value and functionality for them."

In the same AARP Media Sales and GreatCall survey, 89 percent of respondents thought affordability was extremely or very important when making the decision to purchase a new smartphone. GreatCall's data plans are designed to ease customers into data who are using a smartphone for the first time, making it even easier for users to try data plans and find a solution that works best without getting burned by heavy data charges. Customers can track their usage with the usage meter, built right into the home screen. With one touch of a button, users can see their up-to-date monthly usage of minutes, text and data, allowing them to avoid overage charges.

In addition to ease-of-use and affordability, GreatCall determined that more than 30 percent of customers would like a medical alert device and smartphone all-in-one. The Jitterbug Touch 2 can help customers with medical or emergency response needs, by providing GreatCall's suite of health and medical apps preloaded on the phone:

The Lively Flip also has other skills one might easily find on a smartphone like using voice to send text messages. It also has two sets of cameras, one for selfies and one at the rear that can be used to magnify labels on products.

Fresh off the news of its acquisition by Best Buy, aging in place tech company GreatCall has announced the Jitterbug Smart2, the first update since 2016 to its line of smartphones for seniors. It was the original Jitterbug flip phone for seniors that first launched the company in 2006. Since then the company has grown to include a senior care call center and a line of personal emergency response devices, as well as a variety of smartphones, apps, and wearables.

The Jitterbug Flip also has an emergency help button seniors can use if they are in trouble. The 5Star emergency service uses GPS to locate the user. The emergency button itself feels a bit different from the other buttons, so you can find it with just touch alone. This 5Star emergency service requires an additional monthly fee. Jitterbug also has a Voice Dial feature where you can call a contact by speaking their name into the phone.

I'm a senior citizen and cannot pay this kind of money for something that is not reliable. I need to get something I can rely on and the Jitterbug phones do not seem to be it, please refund my money so I can go on my brothers plan where he gets free phone for me and put on his service so I have what I need especially where family member is in hospice. I need reliability.

Got a Jitterbug II smart phone a couple of weeks ago. Played with it to see that it was what we wanted. Seems to be. Called Great Call customer service. Went through the recording tree and go to the "...press 2 for flipphones, 3 for smartphones." Pressed 3 and got dead silence for about 5 seconds followed by "Thank you for calling Great Call" followed by a hangup. Tried again for multiple times on multiple days, even using different phones. Same problem. Sent email, no response. So today I called and pressed 2 instead. Got an immediate response and all went well. I explained that the smartphone option was dead and the techsaid she'd let the right people know. I would have just chalked it up to the Covid-19 miasma, but since the other options were working, I doubt that had anything to do with it. Conclusion? The phone works fine, the recording tree didn't work over a 3 or 4 day period, not a good indicator for a company that deals in phones!

Looking for an inexpensive alternative to upgrade my mom's phone from the traditional flip-style to a smartphone, I opted to find the Smart model for a reasonable price on eBay in October 2019. I am not referring to the "Smart 2" model that is apparently the ONLY alternative in late 2019. When calling Greatcall upon attempted activation, I was told that the phone I had could no longer be activated.

I have been a Greatcall customer for many years. Started when all they had were flip phones and then got a smartphone 1 when they 1st came out. I now have the smartphone 2 and it's a total piece of crap phone. If my screen on my smart one was not cracked I would still be using it. I have no internet connection. It saves all photos even the ones that are texted making me go into the photos and delete them after every text with photos attached. When having a text conversation it will delete the conversation at random. You cannot start a group text. You can be in one if someone else starts one but you can't start one yourself. In a group text it doesn't tell you what other person is texting. My last greatcall smartphone used to have the persons name or number to let you know how is texting in the group. 041b061a72
